A new workshop – exciting times ahead
I am excited to announce that my business, Graham Sparks Restoration and Furniture has moved to a new and very beautiful location in Tonedale. With over 30 years’ experience, I spent the previous 21 years split between a couple of workshops just half a mile away – The old workshops served me well, and I made great memories and met many lovely people, but it was time to move on and I couldn’t be more delighted about my new space.
The new workshop is at Lowmoor, Tonedale Mill on the Abacus site, putting me right on the Wellington road and looking out onto the Wellington Tiles showroom. The site was originally the fabric dying and drying facility for the Fox’s factory and had been left empty and in a bit of a sorry state after suffering flood damage. Myself and some great guys from Abacus Construction spent the last few months carefully and painstakingly cleaning up, fixing and restoring the place as well as painting and applying my own craft to the site, the building is now in tip-top condition and ready for business.
The new workshop is a lot easier to find and there is plenty of space to park right outside, so you are more than welcome to pop in for a look around. The views from the upstairs furniture store are lovely, looking out to the old power plant chimneys and further on to the Wellington Monument.
Now I am settled in and back to it, you’ll probably find me busily crafting a new set of stairs, renovating an antique piece or making one of many bespoke commissions but I’m always happy to stop for a chat and to show people around.
I am very thankful for everyone’s support and business through the years and for all the kind help I received with the move – special thanks go to Kevin and Michelle Wendt and the guys from Abacus Construction for all their help on the project. I look forward to seeing many faces going forward; both new and old.
